Play and Leisure

The Play and Leisure coordinator aims to:

• Listen to the needs of parents/carers and wherever possible look at establishing new clubs or activities.
• Work closely with leisure providers, parents and young people to help increase the opportunities for young people with additional needs and to promote inclusive play opportunities throughout Southern Derbyshire.
• Encourage and facilitate parents, carers and volunteers in applying for funding and establishing new groups to support these young people.
• Support is given to new and existing playschemes to help them develop their services.
• Runs two childrens discos every year.
